15027 Summers

Growing up (until 8th grade) in Conway, PA led to hot, sweaty nights of catching lightening bugs in the yard next door with family and as I got older more mischevious ongoings "across the highway" from our home. We lived less than a mile uphill from the rail yards and the sounds of trains provided the background soundtrack to our lives. Friends who would sleep over from "the country" would complain of being unable to sleep because of the noise. It's probably why I can't fall asleep in total silence now without being completely exhausted. Why when I lived in Bloomfield I would sleep in the living room so that I could here all the traffic on Ella Street.
Walking down Foote St. onn Friday I was reminded of the summer sounds, and here they are. Might have to turn it up a bit.

Comfest

Comfest

Comfest was good this year. I didn't have as many items to sell, but Emily did amazingly well. I even got a great sktechbook from her that is similar to drawings I've been doing lately (like my wedding present). The Saturday afterparty at an organizer's house was a great time and we slept in the lawn behind the bike co-op booth. Other noteables include Lori and a glass blower a few booths down from mine, but I can't find the card.

And in regards to the last post, I had totally forgot about Emayhem. You can see my collages, Slide photos, Black and white photos, a T-shirt I drew up years ago for my bro's band. hehe

The wedding was fun. The night before I got to see some folks at the BBT that I hadn't seen in a good while. A few of the guys from the old Magazino/Emayhem days. Learned of the pending death of Deek Magazine. Plus I finally got to tell Nikki (and Carrie) of Safety Grenade how I've been digging their mp3s.

Oh yeah, and make sure you stop the Arawak City/IMC and Third Hand Bike Co-op Booths too!

I've been making necklaces with the yarn that I got from Robbt's mom's Farm. Jillian also uses the yarn, but in a much more clever manner.

Rain Rain Go Away

Ugh, such a dreary day, looks like it's going to be that way all of Comfest weekend. :-(

Summer is here...

Although I missed the Safety Grenade and Like Summer shows in Pgh, I stayed in Cbus. I also missed the Elephant Bones show, but dancing with them on Sat. made up for it. Summer's here so I shoveled out my apt and made some room for new jewelry makin'. The new mantra is use everything up before you bring new stuff in, so the newest jewelry pieces are hybrids of glass, metal, beads and wool yarn from Robbt's mom's farm. To be photographed soon.

Bikes are nice

My crank arms are turning pink. I'll be able to pick them up in Pgh when I'm home for a wedding

Self Portrait at Louisville Science Center

I've been travelling through Lousiville, Cincy, Indianapolis and South Bend over the last 2 wks. Lousiville was suprisingly nice. Great stencil graffiti a decent record store (which had the X CD I've been wanting), good food and drink and a decent bike shop. Plus we toured the Louisville Slugger museum and went gambling at Ceasar's Palace.
Oh, in Indy, there was an English brewpub in Indy had vegan shepard's pie and a bowling alley with 64 oz bottles of beer. mazing.

I've been a tad busy

I've been traveling a good deal for work and enjoying Columbus when I'm here, so I haven't been making much. This is soon to change though as I'm participating in Comfest at the end of June.
