Beakless Bird (Lickie)

DSC00670, originally uploaded by Petie_in_Cbus.
Last weekend we headed to Mohican to kayak & this little birdie was hoping around the campsite, eating the discarded bread.
Louise Icteridae
Well, it didn't have a beak, and look like it hadn't for a while (ever?), but had a long tongue. Can kind of see it here
"It's a common Grackle, and should have a decent sized blackbird bill"

I went to the dentist a few weeks ago to have my braces on. I' m still having difficulty in eating because of the wires. I also observed that I' m having a lot of cuts inside my mouth because of the wires and I consider it very undesirable.

  4. Wow, amazing. Thanks for documenting. I stumbled across your site looking for images of beakless birds (I'm reading a book about a pair of beakless bluebirds rescued & raised by nuns). It's really astonishing that this bird grew to adulthood in the wild without his beak!
